Five Star Cinemas - New Farm

“I absolutely ADORE this cinema! It is so inviting and comfortable with great welcoming staff. I like the classical appearance of the place with the 60s architecture with all the old brickwork and classical signage. The cinemas themselves are very comfortable with beanbags in front of the screen. The popcorn tastes great and there is a good selection of snacks in the candy bar. They have a wide selection of classic movies that play monthly throughout the year and I recently went there with a couple of friends to see screening of The Room and The Shining which I greatly enjoyed. I love this cinema. Please don’t change it 😃”

“Whenever I go to the cinema, I go here. Cozy and less commercial, friendly service, with a demonstrable culture of love and respect for independent, foreign and local film, and also the retro/cult classics. You won't get your seatback kicked, you won't (usually) have rowdy talkers, and there are beanbags at the front, with all the snack trappings you expect, and a bar for those who like that kind of thing.”

“I like the retro feel, the friendly staff, and the cinemas themselves. I also like the idea of retro screening. I would rate 5 stars except for the fact that popular retro films sell out early, every time, and are rarely re-screened ever again (thereafter). E.g. The Lost Boys. This means it's difficult to get in to a screening. I do like the idea of screening major sports finals here for $10. It still gives viewers a fun, safe, comfy atmosphere without having to go to a sports bar or pub. Some people want to recliner experience, so this is an excellent concept 👌”
