Partridge Way Reserve

📍 Thornlie, WA

★4.2(28 Google reviews)

A roomy neighbourhood reserve with a large shade-sail playground, monkey bars, basketball ring and fitness gear. Good for an hour of play, but no toilets or barbecue means it's not a picnic or party spot.

It's a great park for your animals and kids

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Good for a quick playground stop, with a large shade-sail play area, monkey bars and open grass for a kick of the ball. Just go in knowing there are no toilets and no barbecue, so it's better for an hour of play than a picnic or a party, and the tables sit a fair walk from where the kids will be playing.

â„šī¸ What to Know Before You Go

💡Sort out a toilet stop before you arrive, as there are none on site
⏰Plan for a shorter visit rather than a full afternoon
đŸŽŸī¸Don't count on it for a birthday party since there's no barbecue
🚗The shade sails over the playground help on hot days, but the grass can be dead after a dry summer

“This reserve is built on around 5 acres A large playground under shade sails and a basketball ring caters for different age groups of children as well as the outstanding fitness exercise area for residents to utilise close to home. With a generous open grassed area and a designated pitch for cricket it provides a range of opportunities for park users to enjoy informal ball games or other recreational pursuits. Picnic tables under shelter caters for small gatherings and a circular pathway network framing the reserve under the tall stands of trees allows easy access for all members of the community.”

“Nice park with plenty of seats around. Also a gazebo with benches and tables. Exercise equipment and a large under shade sails playground. The only downside is that the grass is dead, but Perth has had the hottest February on record.”

Overview

Set across a few grassy acres, this is a solid stop for burning off energy: a big playground under shade sails, monkey bars, a basketball ring and a proper fitness area for the grown-ups. There's a gazebo with tables, though they sit a fair walk from where the kids gravitate. The catch is no toilets and no barbecue, so it works better for a quick hour than a long picnic - and the grass takes a beating in a Perth summer.
