“After visiting Cockington Green we decided to stop by the Canberra Walk-In Aviary nearby and it ended up being a real highlight of the day. Our kids were 2 and 4 at the time and they absolutely loved it. You can walk through the aviary and feed rainbow lorikeets and other birds, which makes it a really hands on experience. The birds come right up to you which was so exciting for the kids and made the whole visit feel very interactive. It was also very affordable which made it an easy activity to add to our day while exploring the area. The aviary itself is not huge, but that actually worked well for us with young kids. It felt relaxed and easy to walk around without it becoming overwhelming. There were also some random chickens too which added to the fun. Overall it was a really lovely experience and a great opportunity to get up close with the birds. Our kids were completely fascinated and it ended up being one of their favourite parts of the day. I would definitely recommend it if you are visiting Gold Creek Village with children.”

“Lots of beautiful birds to see and interact with - and we came just in time for all the baby chickens too! Included with entry are some fruit and meal worms for the birds - they love the worms!! If you tap your arm, some of the birds will fly to you :D Will definitely come back the next time we’re in Canberra again! ”
