1 / 3Garvey Park
π Ascot, WA
A relaxed riverside spot in Ascot, best for younger kids and dog owners. Families love the shaded playground, grassy space, and the Swan River cafe open from .
Garvey Park is a great little riverside spot thatβs perfect for a relaxed walk or just unwinding by the water. The views along the Swan River are really pleasant, especially with the open grassy areas and plenty of space to spread out. Itβs a very dog-friendly park too, with lots of room to roam and explore, which makes it ideal if youβve got a companion with you. The walking paths along the river are easy and enjoyable, whether youβre going for a short stroll or something a bit longer. Overall, itβs a simple but really enjoyable parkβnothing over the top, just a peaceful, well-located spot to take in the scenery and slow things down a bit.
π Family Action Verdict
This is the easy, low-key kind of park for a morning where you want the kids to run around while you actually get a coffee. Between the shaded playground, big grassy areas and the riverside path, it suits families with younger kids and anyone bringing a dog. Go for a relaxed outing rather than a big adventure day.

βWonderful park to visit to walk the dog or grab a. Coffee and relax. Bitumen footpath along the river bank. Saturday morning is the Parkrun and running groups so it gets busy around 830-9am at the coffee shop! Great coffee, friendly staff and heaps of seating. The photo is of the bridge last night from the other side And this morning from the park side.β

βLovely walks along the river and through the adjacent bushland. Large grassed areas for sports and play. Ascot canoe club and the cafe on the river add to the opportunity and pleasure of recreation in Garvey Park. A great place for family outings or larger gatherings.β

βLovely park. Great cafe open from 7am until 1pm daily. Lovely sitting area for a coffee overlooking the river which often has canoes on it. Great play area for children, lots of shade to keep them cool. Parking and BBQ facilities available too..β

Overview
The kind of morning where the kids run off steam while you actually finish a coffee. The cafe opens early and looks out over the Swan River, often with canoes drifting past, and the playground has plenty of shade to keep littlies cool. Flat bitumen paths make it easy with a pram or a dog, though Saturday Parkrun crowds it around 8:30. Go for the low-key outing, not the big adventure.
