The four big Gold Coast parks are full-day commitments. Dreamworld in Coomera, which Holidays with Kids calls Australia's biggest theme park with more than 50 attractions, splits gentler rides in Dreamland from the thrill zones, and Tiger Island gets praised regardless of age. Reviewers mention 45 to 60 minute waits on headline rides and closures; one Tripadvisor visitor found about half the major thrill rides shut. Sea World Gold Coast at Main Beach is anchored by the dolphin show, which sits at the far end of the park and can reach capacity, so arrive early. Experience Gold Coast calls it the spot for little ocean lovers, with plenty of exhibits below the ride height limits. WhiteWater World, adjoining Dreamworld, is small enough that no one gets lost and its wave pool works for mixed ages, though teens may run out of slides by late morning. Wet n Wild Gold Coast in Oxenford has more ride variety, including the Mammoth Falls group raft ride with a 100cm minimum height according to Holidays with Kids, but reviewers say long-weekend queues can limit you to six rides.

Aussie World at Palmview is the value pick: short queues, reasonable food prices and the Illusionarium show reviewers call a must-do, with the caveat that many rides spin.

The rest are sessions rather than days. GC Aqua Park in Southport runs 50-minute inflatable sessions on the beach for ages five and up, with a toddler zone. Aqua Warrior Redcliffe in Clontarf is a similar obstacle course pitched at older kids and teens, with lifeguards who coach rather than just watch. Thunderbird Park on Tamborine Mountain trades polish for zip lines, fossicking and a cold creek rock pool. Boat Pool in South Brisbane is free, 1.1m deep throughout and lifeguarded, ideal for non-swimmers before lunch at Southbank.
